Excess engine oil leads to serious damage!

The German Technical Inspection Authority (TÃœV) warned against driving a car if the engine oil was inadvertently overfilled; This may cause severe engine damage.
The authority attributed this risk to the fact that an increase in the level of engine oil than the required amount may result in foam, which negatively affects the efficiency of the oil in reducing the friction process between engine parts, which in the worst cases may lead to severe damage to the engine.
In the event of a slight excess of the maximum oil level, the car may be taken to the nearest maintenance center to get rid of the excess amount of engine oil. In case of doubt about the amount of excess, the authority advises not to move the car and request a mobile maintenance service.
The German authority indicated that the damage resulting from an increase in the level of engine oil exceeds the damage resulting from its sharp decrease, and therefore when refilling the engine oil, one should not rely on inaccurate traditional methods such as measuring the amount of oil required by the wrist or just by looking.
The correct gauge is determined by the dipstick in the oil sump using the MIN and MAX markings. The authority recommends reviewing the car's user manual, which includes information about changing engine oil and its quantity. The exact amount of oil between the two marks is often estimated at one liter.
Alternatively, the oil can be added in batches of 100 milliliters at a time and the oil level checked with the dipstick repeated until the oil reaches the required level marked MAX.
In order for the engine oil measurement process to be carried out correctly, the authority recommends that the engine be warmed up, then stopped and left for ten minutes before performing the oil level measurement process. the oil.
