8 steps to properly and safely remove and install car tires
Car tires are like the feet without which there is no movement - and if one tire breaks down and the air is deflated from it, it becomes difficult if not impossible to repeat the movement - and one of the most important things that must be learned and performed correctly with regard to cars is how to change the wheels and tires of the car, as the wheels are often exposed ( Tires) due to damage or loss of air inside them, which requires changing the car’s tires, and installing the spare wheel instead. Here we will learn the correct way to do this, and the most important tips.
Equipment needed to change the tire:
Jack to lift the car.
A special key for removing and installing the nuts that fix the wheels.
A usable spare wheel.
reflective triangle.
a heavy solid object (eg a stone)
Steps to disassemble and install car tires:
1 - You must first make sure of the place to park the car, it must be on flat ground, not inclined, and be on the side of the road in a place where parking is permitted, and in a safe place, where the cars coming from behind you can easily see you. It is also preferable to turn on the warning lights or the "hazard" and put the reflective triangle.
Make sure that the car is installed using the hand brake, and if you are on a street with two slopes, it is preferable to use a heavy object (such as a stone) placed at one of the wheels of the car in the opposite direction to the side of the slope.
2 - Make sure that the spare wheel in the rear trunk of the car is in a good position, by checking the air pressure inside it by applying hand pressure on it. Also, it is recommended that you place the spare wheel under the car in the direction of the wheel to be changed, for more precautions.
3 - Loosen the five nuts of the wheels that need to be replaced, before starting to lift the car, using the special key, by tightening it counterclockwise. Do not completely loosen the nuts, just loosen the nuts.
4 - Make sure that the jack is placed in the correct place before lifting the car. Use the jack for lifting the car, by placing it next to the wheel that needs to be changed, with the need to ensure that the jack is installed at a strong point of the car body, and not at the end of the car body, or any other place. plastic. Then gradually raise the car to the appropriate height (the wheel should be about 10-15 cm above the ground). Never place any part of your body under the lifted vehicle.
5 - Unscrew the nuts, and then pull the wheel, and if the wheel is difficult to move, it can be hit on its end with a nut wrench to facilitate its exit. After pulling the wheel, put it in the place of the spare wheel under the car as a precaution.
6 - Make sure the nuts are tightened tightly, put the spare wheel in the same place as the old wheel (change the wheel of the car), and fix the nuts with the special key. Install the bolts initially, and press the bolts in a gradual manner, meaning that you press the nuts one by one by 50%, for example, and then go back to the first nut and install it 100%, and then the next one.
7 - Before doing so, remove the wheel that has been changed from under the car, and then lower the car using a special jack, and make sure to install the nuts again after changing the car wheel.
8 - Do not forget to go to the nearest store to repair the damaged wheel, and change the car wheel by re-installing it instead of the spare one that you installed.
